My name is Andy Buck and this is my story. I was born and raised in a Christian home by two wonderful parents in Greenhills, Ohio. I gave my life to Jesus Christ at 10 years old and was baptized by Joe Crumpler at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Kenwood. I grew up loving the Lord and living every day for Him, but in the transition from high school to college, I lost my way a bit.
I graduated Greenhills High School in 1990 and enrolled at the University of Cincinnati in the College of Engineering. I chose Engineering because at the time it was a booming career that paid the most. I was not interested in what God wanted me to do. Wasn't it obvious that God would want me to do the thing that made me the most money?!
This was NOT His plan.... I was wrong.
I failed out of Engineering.
Completely lost and dejected, I began selling cars at a small independent used car lot in Hamilton, Ohio where I learned the ins and outs of the car business. In 1994 I joined the team at Northgate Lincoln Mercury Volkswagen and was introduced to a franchise model.
I still attended night school at the College of Business, but I was bitter that God had let me fail at engineering after all that I had done for Him! How dare He!
In mid 1995, I finally began to realize that the life that I was leading was not what God wanted me to do, but I was stuck and felt that there was no real way out. I had surrounded myself with non Christians and I did not feel that I could go back to the church without feeling like a hypocrite. My life continued to spiral, looking great on the outside, but destructing on the inside. Then I got a phone call that changed my life.
The voice on the other line was that of the most awesome woman that I had ever known. The voice belonged to a girl that I had dated in High School. She was visiting for the summer from West Virginia and we had met at church. We tried to make the long distance relationship work, but I broke up with her at Homecoming. The Lord had introduced my wife to me early in life, but I was to blind to see His plan. During the phone call, Shelly told me that I was not living the way that God would want me to live and that I needed to clean up my act. That call blossomed into a great friendship that caused us to fall in love all over again.
In March of 1996, we were married. We have held each other accountable to our commitment to Jesus Christ ever since. I believe that God is in control of everything and that He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins. All that is required of us is to open our hearts and accept the free gift of salvation. You will not believe the story that will unfold for your life if you simply trust in Jesus and allow Him to lead you!
I am so blessed to have a Godly, loving wife, 2 awesome children, loving parents and loving in-laws. Thank you for reading. I hope this has had an impact on your life and I hope that Jesus will use me in some way help you now and in the future.
